Suite Summaries

Instead of writing just the summaries in every single page before I (Sujin) have all the resources ready, I'm putting my suite overview summaries here. I'll seek specific feedback on what I've cobbled from the individual resources later.

Cash Management

The Cash Management Suite provides resources to create and manage a variety of cash management options. These options include bank drops, tills, and payouts.

With this suite, you can open, hold, and close tills; perform bank drops and payouts; and manage your cash drops and cash office.

Discounts

The Discounts suite provides resources to create, edit, and store information for discounts. This information includes the type of discount, when and how to apply the discount, type of discount, any loyalty information required for the discount, whether a manager password is required for the discount, and more. These discounts can then be applied to orders.

Employees

The Employees suite provides resources to manage your employees and their permissions. This includes creating employees, associating employees with roles and establishments, setting roles and permissions, and managing declared tips.

Because this suite uses the Scheduling API suite, you also need access to the Scheduling suite of resources in order to track employee scheduling information.

General

The General suite lets you manage general establishment information. This includes the address, company name, equipment, currency, and establishment settings.

This suite also lets you manage your kitchen displays, Point of Sale stations, and set opening and closing business hours.

Gift Cards

Revel provides its own complete proprietary system for managing gift cards. With this API suite you can track gift card sales and usage, edit your gift card settings, and update or remove existing gift cards. You can even import gift cards directly into the system.

Revel also partners with certain outside vendors to support complete integration of their gift card solutions at Revel businesses. You can find a list of supported vendors here..

House Accounts

House accounts allow you to maintain customer accounts that can accrue a balance and be billed at a later date. With this API suite, you can integrate house accounts into your accounting system, keep track of billing and payments, and track both individual account balances and summaries of all house accounts. You can enable or disable house accounts, update totals, set account maximums, and personalize billing through all through an API.

Inventory

The Inventory suite lets you manage your inventory. This includes ingredient inventory, stock amounts, and current stock.

You can also create and manage physical inventories and stocktakes with this suite.

Note: the Physical Inventory resources will be deprecated soon in favor of the stocktake resources. We encourage transitioning to the Stocktake resources as soon as possible. The physical inventory resources do not work with the stocktake functionality, and vice versa.

Loyalty

The Loyalty suite manages Revel loyalty and rewards. It supports points, loyalty tiers, and rewards cards creation and management.

With this suite you can create loyalty tiers, qualification rules for those tiers, and rewards cards. You can also log rewards card use.

Orders

The Orders API suite lets you manage orders. This includes creating orders, viewing order histories, and completing payments, exchanges, and refunds.

The Orders suite also supports service fees, taxes (for entire orders, individual items, and tax breakdowns), order shipping, and commissions.

Purchase Orders

The Purchase Orders API suite lets you automatically generate or manually create purchase orders and manage receiving of full or partial orders. Purchase orders from your system can be directly integrated into your accounting system so you can create a seamless connection between ordering, receiving, and managing your budget.

Reporting

Revel's management console allows you to pull sales and payment data in a variety of ways. This API suite gives you access to sales and payment summaries, hourly sales, and product mix reports.

Tables

Table service restaurants can edit table arrangement and seating sections through the management console. Table assignments, transfers, and customer seating are handled on the iPad point of sale. The Tables API suite lets you create an API for overall table management.

Taxes

The Taxes suite provides resources for managing taxes. This includes creating taxes, assigning taxes to a product group, tax rates, and third-party tax integrations.
